Laying out my pages.
Without writing the complete story on paper, I used to just sketch the story from memory back in the days. Just displaying the action.
Once I have a majority of the pages completed. I start to detail it with more dynamic poses and set up the pages with numbers and a sequence.
Then, once it look good. I proceed to penciling. A bit crude but effective.
