The word “demon” means “replete with knowledge” and until Christianity, they were seen as minor spirits that were neither evil or good but both. Demons that helped humans were called “eudemons” and ones that like to do more harm than good were called “cacodemons”. Demon is derived from the Greek word daimon or “divine power,” “fate,” or “god”. In Greek mythology, daimon included deified heros. Daimones were intermediary spirits between man and the gods. A good daimon acted as a guardian angel.
As for ‘The Infernal Demon Boy’ story, my character is possessed by a demon spirit of protection who is using him as a host to protect mankind from an immortal Egyptian Pharaoh called Kha-Mi Li-Un. How is it possible to defeat an enemy that’s immortal?
Well… Some brilliant sorcerer back in the predynastic period composed an aggregation incantation on the sole brave warrior that defeats and imprisons the Pharaoh. With this incantation, every time the immortal Pharaoh escapes or is released and rises up to rule, the spell selects the next fearless soul in the blood line to battle the Pharaoh. After a warrior’s death, the incantation places every brave warrior that ever defeated the Pharaoh throughout time collectively into one valiant new soul.
And there you have “The Infernal Demon Boy”!
